If You Have Children and Plan to Attend Trinity

On behalf of the entire Family and Youth Ministries Team, I would like to welcome you to Trinity Cathedral.

Sunday Education

Our parish is strongly dedicated to Christian Formation. We currently have Sunday classes for children and youth from pre-school through high school which is a year round program.  We are staffed entirely by volunteers. Please come to visit any time. You are always welcome.

Nursery

Our Nursery is open from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Sunday mornings for Children from birth to age three. There is a paid staff and a variety of age appropriate toys and activities.  Snack is served during the middle of each service. Diaper changes and potty breaks are taken as needed.

The Nursery is located near the west transept door facing the courtyard.

Family Service

Every first Sunday of the month we have a Family Service. This is a child-friendly service for the whole family. It includes lots of singing and movement, plus a gospel message and communion. Join us for this unique and joyful service.

Children’s Chapel

Children’s Chapel is presented each Sunday morning at the 9am and 11:15am services as an opportunity for children to stretch during the middle of the adult service. Children are lead out of church by the verger after the Gospel is read. They go to the Assembly Area for a service that includes songs, prayer and a skit, puppet show or flannel board story led by the youth of the Cathedral. There is also a time for sharing before the Verger comes to lead them back to church during the Peace. Each child is given a Children’s Bulletin, which contains puzzles and games related to the Gospel. On Sundays when there is a First Sunday Family Service Children’s Chapel will not be held at 9:00 am.

Children’s Chapel Ministers

Each of us is a minister. The ministers of Children’s Chapel service are the young people in fifth grade through high school.  Children’s Chapel is held every Sunday during the worship service in the Assembly Area.  This gives the younger children a little wiggle room during the service in the Cathedral. On a rotating basis, about once a month, the young person will help with Children’s Chapel.  They lead songs, prayers, present the Gospel skit and lead the sharing portion of the service.  If you are in fifth grade or above, and like to do skits and sing songs, this is your opportunity. Each young person will be trained.

Acolytes

Children are also invited to participate in the worship services as acolytes. Acolytes are a very important part of the worship at Trinity Cathedral. Young people aged 9 by September 1 may be trained as an acolyte. The acolytes serve on Sundays at all services and on special occasions during the church year. Acolytes are trained on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Cathedral. For More information call Mr. Brian Kempton 916-361-3736.
