Blessing of the Animals
Blessing of the Animals takes place on the Sunday closest to the Feast of St. Francis usually the first weekend in October at 3:00 p.m. in the Courtyard. Bring your pets to join in the procession and to be blessed.
The Halloween Family Pancake Breakfast is sponsored by the Men’s Group. Wear your costume for the Halloween Parade that day as well.All Saints’ Banner Procession
All Saints Banner Procession
The All Saints Banner Procession occurs at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services, where the youth help carries in the banners of the saints in the service professions.
We will carve pumpkins, have a soup supper and a ceremony in the Cathedral with our pumpkins. Wear your costume!
Making Advent Wreaths
Your family can make an Advent wreath to observe Advent. All materials will be provided for building the wreaths. The event takes place in the Great Hall on the Sunday prior to the beginning of advent.
St. Nicholas Night
This is an evening of making crafts, a service with St. Nicholas who tells us about his life and a supper. It is a great night for bringing friends and family. You can have your picture taken of St. Nicholas if you like.
Christmas and Epiphany Pageants
The youth group presents a tableau of the Nativity at the 3 pm and 5 pm services on Christmas Eve.
Epiphany Youth Pageant and Service with a Potluck Dinner
All children and youth are invited to celebrate the coming of the Wise Men to visit baby Jesus. We need angels, shepherds, and readers for this special night. Watch for rehearsal times. It is a beautiful way to end the Christmas season. A potluck dinner follows.
Shrove Tuesday-Mardis Gras Pancake Supper
Families are invited to have pancakes and other goodies with a Mardis Gras theme to help us prepare for the beginning of Lent. We will make an Alleluia banner and will bury it that night. The banner will be buried during Lent and dug up on Easter morning.
Ash Wednesday Service for Children
This service is for everyone but is geared to younger children it includes the imposition of ashes and communion.
Good Friday Stations of the Cross for Children
This is an interactive drama for children put on by the Children’s Chapel Ministers, to help them understand the significance of why Jesus died for us. It is a one-hour program parent and others are welcome. We will meet in the Assembly area.
Easter Pancake Breakfast with the EGGstravaganza
This family event is for everyone with the EGGstravaganza for children fifth grade and under. We offer egg dying, games and refreshments and an egg hunt. Bring your basket to hunt eggs.
This is the day we dig up Alleluia Banner that we buried at the beginning of Lent. Remember to bring flowers for the Easter Floral Cross.
