Serve: How I participate in Good Works

Members of Trinity Cathedral are committed to serve others.  In 2009, Trinity was the only congregation to house and feed people when the County eliminated funding for winter homeless shelter.  That emergency response became the model for Sacramento's Winter Sanctuary program which houses people in churches throughout the county.  In 2011, the Cathedral was honored by the Sacramento City Unified School District for its many ministries to Floyd Elementary School (formerly Jed Smith Elementary School) - a school in which all students are living in poverty.

Opportunities to serve also include participating in the worship services by reading lessons, ushering, baking communion bread, arranging flowers, etc.  Some people volunteer in the Sunday School program, others receive special training and become pastoral care givers. There are many ways you can become involved in serving others.  If you would like help finding a ministry for you, contact our volunteer coordinator Randie Strike at:

At Trinity Cathedral,  we strive to provide opportunities for you to make a difference in the world by pairing your gifts with the needs around us. Here you will find opportunities to serve in worship, serve in the broader community and serve at Trinity.
